Introduction:
A weighing module is a modular weighing device that integrates sensors, load-bearing structures, and installation accessories. It is primarily used for static/dynamic weight measurement of containers (storage tanks, reaction vessels, silos), equipment, or materials, and is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, and new energy that require precise weighing and process control.
Core Structure and Working Principle
The core components include load cells (mostly strain gauge type), a load-bearing base/top plate, limit devices, and a junction box (used when multiple modules are combined).
During operation, the weight of the material is transmitted to the load cell through the load-bearing structure, causing the strain gauge to deform and convert into an electrical signal. This signal is then collected via the junction box (in multi-module scenarios) or directly transmitted to the weighing instrument/PLC, ultimately being converted into a digital weight value for display and output.
The limit device is used to restrict equipment displacement (such as shaking caused by earthquakes or material impacts), protecting the load cell from damage without affecting weighing accuracy.
Core features and advantages
High weighing accuracy: Accuracy class is typically C3 or higher, with an error ≤0.05%~0.1%, meeting the needs of industrial process control and metering.
Easy installation: Modular design, no need to modify the container bottom, direct hoisting or support installation, adaptable to various container structures such as round and square.
Strong stability: Possesses resistance to off-center loading, vibration, and electromagnetic interference, adapting to complex industrial environments; some models have temperature compensation functions to reduce the impact of ambient temperature on accuracy.
Suitable for complex working conditions: Withstands high temperatures (-40℃~200℃), low temperatures, corrosion, humidity, etc. Materials include stainless steel and carbon steel, meeting the needs of different industries.
Supports process integration: Can be linked with PLC and DCS systems to achieve weight alarms, automatic feeding/unloading control, and is suitable for automated production lines.
Main types and applicable scenarios
Static Load Weighing Module: Suitable for weighing static materials (such as inventory measurement in storage tanks and silos). Compact structure, high accuracy, available in three types: column type, cantilever beam type, and bridge type. The cantilever beam type is suitable for small and medium-sized containers, while the column type is suitable for large, heavy-duty equipment.
Dynamic Load Weighing Module: Suitable for weighing dynamic processes (such as feed metering in reactors and material weighing on production lines). Fast response speed, capable of capturing weight changes in real time, avoiding accuracy deviations caused by material impact.
Sanitary Grade Weighing Module: Made of 316L stainless steel with a polished surface (Ra≤0.8μm), eliminating sanitary dead corners. Supports in-line cleaning (CIP) and in-line sterilization (SIP), suitable for aseptic environments such as pharmaceuticals, food, and dairy products.
Explosion-Proof Weighing Module: Ex explosion-proof certified, suitable for flammable and explosive media environments (such as chemical solvent storage tanks and oil and gas field equipment), preventing hazards caused by static electricity or electric sparks.
Typical Application Industries:
Pharmaceutical/Vaccine Industry: Metering and addition of materials to aseptic mixing tanks and raw material storage tanks, complying with GMP standards to ensure accurate and traceable material proportions.
Food/Dairy Industry: Weight monitoring of condiment fermentation tanks and fresh milk storage tanks to prevent over- or under-feeding and ensure consistent product quality.
Chemical/New Energy Industry: Weighing and addition of materials to chemical reactors and lithium battery raw material storage tanks, adaptable to corrosive, flammable, and explosive media, enabling automated batching.
Building Materials/Metallurgy Industry: Inventory metering of silos and hoppers, supporting automatic raw material replenishment and improving production efficiency.
Logistics/Packaging Industry: Weighing and inspection of finished products on packaging lines to screen for non-conforming products and ensure metrological compliance.
